The Total Rate includes all applicable taxes, standard fees, travel insurance, pet fee (if property is pet-friendly) and a non-refundable $50 Reservation Fee. Linens and towels are also included, and standard beds are made for your arrival. The travel insurance and pet fee (if not traveling with your pup) are optional and can be removed during the reservation process.

"Sugar Shack is a great beach location. The master bedroom air conditioning needs some attention, along with the bathroom which has no air. It does get warm. However, we enjoyed our stay and plan on staying again next summer."

"This property had a great location and nice rooms. Just note that the sun room is connected to another bedroom so anyone staying in that room would have to walk through the other bedroom. Also the main room got pretty warm in the heat of the day even with the AC running. However the overall experience was amazing! Beautiful views! Short stroll to the beach!"

Great Beach House!

"Loved our stay at the Sugar Shack! Definitely recommend this beach front location. Everyone complains about the tree but I think it’s beautiful nature and provides protection for birds and butterflies from the rain. "

"Right on the beach, which was very nice for taking walks this time of year. Heat worked fine. Kitchen was nice and had most everything. However, I agree with all the others who say to remove that palm tree, as it ruins the view from the decks. It is way down the island, past Galveston, so it's a 20+ minute ride to everything. That is both good and bad, lol."

"Perfect for a secluded get away with friends!!! We were very comfortable and enjoyed being just steps away from the beach!! There are a few touch ups that need to be made to make the house better but we had an amazing time!"

"The house is a nice house with a significant exception. In front of the deck, blocking about a third of the view to the Gulf is a large palm tree bush. It is overgrown and in completely the wrong place, since it is right beyond the rail of the deck, blocking about a third of the rail. Otherwise the house has been updated in kitchen and baths, it is clean, the deck is a nice combination of shade and sun areas. We would stay again if they removed the palm, I cant imagine any reason for it being there."

"We loved this property and it is great on size and location, but when we arrived the AC was not working in the Master Bedroom & it doesn't have AC in the Master Bathroom or the laundry room. The Sand N Sea team worked very hard our first night to get the AC up and running. Your contractor and my husband both worked on the system and finally got it working again. Thankfully there was a cold front and the Master Bathroom wasn't too hot. If this house had Central AC in all of the rooms we would certainly book it again, but during the summer months this home will be way too hot."

Sweet Spaces

"Sugar Shack's layout is one of the best! The sleeping porch is a little sanctuary for reading in the daytime and sleeping with the windows open at night to hear the ocean's sweet songs. The open living, kitchen, dining is mod, comfy, and invites a sit down and communal cooking and snacking! I spent a lot of time on the covered deck watching the weather, birds and waves. Sea Isle is a long time favorite neighborhood for me... a little farther from the action of the seawall and strand, but closer to San Luis Pass's dunes, where the birds outnumber the people! Sugar Shack was one of my favorite Sand n Sea rentals. Really a special beach cabin with spaces that invited me to relax, recharge and be happy!"
