About Galveston Real Estate Statistics
Every six months, Sand `N Sea assembles and releases real estate information that applies to Galveston Island as a whole, as well as specific areas and neighborhoods. Our Annual Statistics report, published each February, looks back on Galveston real estate performance for the entire year and compares it to the previous year.
Each statistics report details the following real estate information:
-Dollar volume and number of transactions for all of Galveston as well as for specific neighborhoods, areas and type of properties — from West End beachfront homes to downtown condos.
-Percentage of change, by both dollar volume and number of transactions for all of Galveston as well as specific areas and neighborhoods.
-Galveston Island recap of market activity, including average days on the market and median sales price.
The preparation that goes into this comprehensive report is extensive. It starts with extracting real estate statistics from the Houston Association of Realtors and assembling the data into spreadsheets, carefully verifying all facts and statistics, and then organizing it all with a sharp attention to detail.
The Galveston Daily News publishes each of these reports, along with a Sand `N Sea Realtor® interview to explain in greater depth what’s behind current market conditions. Additionally, we get the word out by mailing customized postcards to Galveston property owners, featuring the statistics in our real estate sales newsletters, and posting the information to our website.
