This is the CUTEST rental! The location is great, and the house is really cozy. Everything was clean and comfy. The kitchen has pretty much everything I needed, and S&S prepares each room/bathroom with really nice amenities. The outside of the rental is about like all of the other properties in the area, but the inside was wonderful! Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for my foster dog and I for the week. Sugar Shack is terrific and everything we expected...the furnishings were clean and on a whole, it is spacious. We esp liked the open ceiling/rafter look which made the entire space airy, and bigger than it would appear. It has great open kitchen w sitting areas that are perfect for watching the gulf thru large windows during thunder storms. The deck is 'just right' bc the covered area works w a rainy day and the open part was ample for sitting in the sun...Overall an A++++! We enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect for the beach, peace and quiet, fishing pier, Church, groceries and small eats! The Sugar Shack is a a little rough around the edges but very comfortable. Really nice kitchen and beds. We had to spend more time indoors or on the deck due to the rain than we usually do. Perfect little beach getaway!
Sugar Shack is just great! We cooked all of our meals in the well equipped kitchen. Sitting on the deck listening to the surf and the wind blowing through the beautiful palm tree was amazing! What a wonderful find. Sand NSea is a wonderful management company. Our beach house was spotless when we walked in. Soft fluffy towels were provided. They are always available to answer questions. This property had a great location and nice rooms. Just note that the sun room is connected to another bedroom so anyone staying in that room would have to walk through the other bedroom. Also the main room got pretty warm in the heat of the day even with the AC running. However the overall experience was amazing! Beautiful views! Right on the beach, which was very nice for taking walks this time of year. Heat worked fine. Kitchen was nice and had most everything. However, I agree with all the others who say to remove that palm tree, as it ruins the view from the decks. It is way down the island, past Galveston, so it's a 20+ minute ride to everything. The house is a nice house with a significant exception. In front of the deck, blocking about a third of the view to the Gulf is a large palm tree bush. It is overgrown and in completely the wrong place, since it is right beyond the rail of the deck, blocking about a third of the rail. Otherwise the house has been updated in kitchen and baths, it is clean, the deck is a nice combination of shade and sun areas. We loved this property and it is great on size and location, but when we arrived the AC was not working in the Master Bedroom & it doesn't have AC in the Master Bathroom or the laundry room. The Sand N Sea team worked very hard our first night to get the AC up and running. Your contractor and my husband both worked on the system and finally got it working again. Thankfully there was a cold front and the Master Bathroom wasn't too hot. Sugar Shack's layout is one of the best! The sleeping porch is a little sanctuary for reading in the daytime and sleeping with the windows open at night to hear the ocean's sweet songs. The open living, kitchen, dining is mod, comfy, and invites a sit down and communal cooking and snacking! I spent a lot of time on the covered deck watching the weather, birds and waves. Sea Isle is a long time favorite neighborhood for me... a little farther from the action of the seawall and strand, but closer to San Luis Pass's dunes, where the birds outnumber the people!
