Beachside Village is a rainbow of bright pastel color on the north side of FM 3005 on the West Galveston beachfront. While this is one of the newest subdivisions on the West End, its architecture reflects the Island’s 19th Century Victorian heritage. Strict design standards require white picket fences, metal roofs and pastels to contribute to the village charm. The subdivision plan called for green spaces, dune crossovers to the beach and 154 homes when construction began in 2005. Beachfront and beachside homesites are still available. Shopping and dining are only about 5 miles to the east on 61st Street, and golf, restaurants and groceries are about 4 miles to the west. Vacation rentals are permitted when managed by a professional management company.
