Miramar Beach, Half Moon & Stavanger Beach
Miramar Beach, Half Moon and Stavanger Beach are small clusters of Galveston beach houses on the Gulf side of FM 3005 on Galveston’s far west end. San Luis Pass is 5 miles to the west, and 61st Street in Galveston is 18 miles to the east. Groceries are only about 2 miles away.
Though they vary in size, most of the properties built on this beachfront stretch of Galveston real estate are wood frame single-family structures of traditional architectural design. Vacation rentals are permitted in Miramar Beach and Half Moon, but not Stavanger Beach.
Houses at Miramar Beach were built between 1998 and 2002. They range in size from just over 2,000 to just under 3,000 square feet, mostly on half-acre lots.
Half Moon homes are smaller, between 1,750 and 2,360 square feet, built in 1995.
The 11 homes at Stavanger Beach are newer, built between 2014 and 2015 on quarter-acre lots. They vary in size from 1,600 to 3,300 square feet.
Houses for sale in Galveston’s Miramar Beach, Stavanger Beach and Half Moon subdivisions range in price from the $500,000s to the $900,000s.
