Real Estate Agent, Galveston Island
"I love helping people find their special place on the island! Galveston has such a variety of vacation homes and permanent residences. It is so rewarding to show people how wonderful the island is."
Alison Smith Christensen grew up in Houston and earned her B.A. degree in Political Science from Texas A&M. A family vacation home in Galveston in the 90s turned into a permanent residence in 2002. "It wasn't a difficult choice; we loved the pace of 'island time' and found ourselves spending more and more time down here."
Alison has an extensive knowledge of Galveston's coastal market: the West End, from beach to bay; the quaint neighborhoods - new and old - tucked throughout the island; and the windstorm and flood insurance requirements important to all property owners.
"I was raised in Houston, and now Galveston is my home - I've had the best of both worlds. This combination helps me better understand and assist out-of-town buyers in our market."
Active in the community, she attends St. Mary's Catholic Church, and serves as a docent with the Galveston Historic Homes Tour each May. In 2018, Alison was elected to the Board of Galveston Associate of Realtors® and coordinates community outreach for the association. She was also the featured Realtor® in an episode of "Beachfront Bargain Hunt" on HGTV. When she is not working with clients, Alison enjoys estate sales and vintage shops, trips to New Orleans, and entertaining her friends and family at her father's farm near Brenham.
Professional Associations include: National Association of Realtors® (NAR), Houston Association of Realtors® (HAR) and Galveston Association of Realtors® (GAR).
Following in their mother's footsteps, her daughter, Ali, is a recent graduate of Texas A&M, and her son, Jack, is a current student at Texas A&M in College Station. As in many true Texas marriages, her husband, John, is a Longhorn!
