Julie Greenwell came to real estate with a strong background in finance after a 25 year career in the oil and gas industry with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS); the last 7 years were spent in Project Management of Offshore facilities in the Gulf of Mexico. 

Julie grew up in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Houston in 1991. In 2009 she purchased a West Galveston beach house which she enjoyed as a second home until 2016 when she retired from ABS. She then made the full time move to Galveston to pursue island living and her dreams of becoming a REALTOR®.  

Julie loves everything the island has to offer and enjoys helping clients looking for an investment property, permanent residence or second home. She has a reputation for outstanding client service with 24/7 availability, utilizing strong marketing techniques, and being a skilled negotiator who keeps her client’s best interests at heart.

Julie’s designations include: Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR); Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE); Seller Representative Specialist (SRS); Resort and Second Home Specialist (RSPS); Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS); and Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA).  Her professional associations include membership in the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) and is on the Board for the Galveston Association of REALTORS ® (GAR), American Shore and Beach Preservation Association member (ASBPA), Sea Isle Property Owner Association (SIPOA) Vice President, West Galveston Island Property Owner Association (WGIPOA), and the Galveston Chamber of Commerce.

Julie is a member of the Galveston Historical Foundation, Turtle Island Restoration Network (Julie is part of the nesting patrol), Sea Isle Planters Bunch, Krewe of Gambrinus as float captain, and is a very active volunteer with the Galveston Humane Society as a foster for animals awaiting adoption. She actively supports the Wounded Warrior Project® and the Shriner’s Hospital for Children® in Galveston.

When she’s not busy helping real estate clients find the perfect property, you’ll find Julie running, kayaking or strolling the beautiful beaches of Galveston Island.
