Types of Galveston Vacation Rentals
Galveston beach house rentals can be found throughout the island, though our favorites are located on the West End. Selections and locations vary greatly. Wondering what it all means? Sand `N Sea vacation rentals are categorized this way:
Beachfront homes are first-row vacation rentals. There are no other homes between you & the beach. There may be a small neighborhood road (like in Spanish Grant). Beach access can include: private dune walkovers, cleared paths, or neighborhood access points a few steps away (like in Pointe West).
Beachside with Gulf View properties are 2nd row or a bit further back (always on the south side of FM 3005). These Galveston vacation homes have an easy-to-find view of the water and/or beach. Your view may be across greenway space, between neighboring homes, or from the decks.
Beachside are also located on the south side of FM 3005. You may have a long, limited, or non-existent view of the Gulf. Your walk to the beach could be as little as 20 yards or up to four block, depending on the location of the property.
Pro Tip: Beachside homes can be more budget friendly than beachfront options, and they are still within easy walking or wagon riding distance of the sand & surf.
Bayfront & canal homes offer quick deep water access and excellent fishing or birding. Many homes have fishing lights and easy tie-up points for your boat, kayak or jet skis. All of our Galveston vacation homes with private pools are located on the canal or bay.
Types of Vacation Rentals
Vacation homes in Galveston come in a variety of sizes. Sand `N Sea manages options perfect for all groups and ages.
Condos & townhomes are great choices for couples or smaller families looking to get away from it all. Sand `N Sea manages units in both Diamond Beach and Pointe West. Both developments have pools, hot tubs and other resort amenities.
Large homes and groups of houses that work together make it easy to plan your family reunion. These Galveston vacation rentals are within easy walking distance of one another - some are right next door!
Summer Escapes: Summer is the most popular time to visit Galveston Island beaches - for good reason! Vacation rentals offer all the comforts of home with the bonus of quick beach or bay access.
Houses of all sizes are available for week-long vacations (arrivals on Monday or Friday, depending on the home). We also offer a large selection of homes available summer stays as short as 3 nights for guests with limited time off.
Week Long Island Getaways: Weekly rentals are most popular during the summer, but you’ll love Galveston at any time of year! Spend a whole week at a beach house to experience island life at its best! Watch the sunrise over the Gulf, float through agenda-free days, dine on casual meals of fresh Gulf seafood, spend hours in the sun & surf, and relax on your private deck with your favorite beverage every evening. Beach house amenities like spacious open floor plans, washers, dryers, full kitchens & outdoor showers make your getaway stress-free!
Where is the Best Place to Stay in Galveston TX?

Things to Do Near Your Galveston Beach Rental
We know you chose Galveston for its 32 miles of beaches! Build sandcastles, fly kites, surf or bodyboard, swim in the refreshing Gulf, work on your tan, comb the beach for shells & driftwood, or bring your favorite rod & reel and try your hand at surf fishing. It’s all just steps away when you book a beachfront vacation rental!
These aquatic oases offer a great way to cool off or take a break from the salt & surf! Most neighborhood pools (like those at Diamond Beach, Sea Isle & Pointe West) are only open to guests staying in that area, but the Jamaica Beach pool welcomes the general public with a per person, per day fee. All Galveston pools are open seasonally, typically Memorial Day to Labor Day. Really love the water? Look for a vacation rental with a private pool.
Fishing & Birding on Galveston Island
Try your hand at fishing or bring your binoculars to experience some of the best birding on the Gulf! Most bay and canal vacation rentals include a place to tie up your favorite water toy — be it a fishing boat or jet ski — and there are multiple places to put in the water or buy fresh bait, like Waterman’s or the West End Marina. Be aware that most neighborhood HOA regulations prevent guests from parking trailers or boats at vacation rental homes. Be sure to talk with your property manager about your options before heading down to the island.
