1. St. John Antiques

St. John Antiques has been a purveyor of fine-quality vintage collectibles, products, and some antique furniture for over 40 years in Galveston’s Historic Downtown District. A waltz through their gem of a joint shows high-end products like bakelite jewelry, nautical antiques, gold estate jewelry, American art pottery, and gorgeous, one-of-a-kind lighting pieces, including one gorgeous 50s chandelier and a lamp shaped like an owl.

Pro tip? Stop by the eclectic MOD Coffeehouse just down the road for a refreshing iced coffee after your antique shopping session.

2. Somewhere in Time

Located on Historic Strand Street, Somewhere In Time has been a cornerstone of the Galveston Historic District for over 30 years.

The owner, whose passion for antiques was nurtured by her parents, who were long-time antique store owners in Illinois, has dedicated a lifetime to the art of collecting and preserving antiques.

The shop’s treasures are sourced from extensive buying trips across the rural Midwest, the Historic East Coast, and the Old Deep South. Stop by this gem to explore a vast and eclectic assortment of antiques and collectibles, spanning from marbles to coke machines and much more in between.

3. Style & Co.

Leopard-print fanny packs, breezy  summer tanks, and elegant floral maxi dresses are just a few of the fashion finds at Style & Co’s clothing store. This shop also has an impressive array of handmade accessories, like sequined earrings, candles, bath bombs, and quirky animal figurines for unique home decor.

You might notice limited sizing for some products at the Style Co, but that’s only because the owner carefully curates each offering to ensure what you’re wearing is one-of-a-kind.

You can’t get much more themed or whimsical than Strand Brass on The Strand in Galveston! This eclectic shop and its sister store right next door, Christmas on The Strand, have everything you need for holiday decor and unique gifts all year long. 6. RCC Resale Store

  • Location: 2025 Broadway Avenue J, Galveston, TX
  • Website: rccgc.org

Some people shop on vacation for brand-new souvenirs, and others are looking for the real treasure—the kind that comes with a story. If you fall into the latter group and put antiquing and thrifting high on your list when you visit a new place, RCC Resale is for you!

Walk through the racks of women’s 90s dresses and skirts, or meander to the hat hangers and pick yourself up a cowboy hat. Toward the back of the store, you’ll find a large section for home decor with pizzazz, like pepper-shaped cooking dishes, all for reasonable prices.

7. District Rags

If you’re a fashionista after a chic find within minutes of walking into a boutique, District Rags is the Galveston shop for you. Owner Darla offers incredible customer service and attention to detail to help you find the perfectly fitted smocked maxi skirt, basket handbag, or ultra-sleek sequin pants. This is a great spot to find a new outfit before a  night out on The Strand.

Our advice? Check out the selection of embroidered jean jackets. These timeless pieces make great additions to any outfit and are great souvenirs to remember your island trip!

The Southwestern Telephone Building, built in the late 1800s, is a lovely piece of architecture that catches your gaze as you walk through the Galveston Historic Arts District.

Within the building, you’ll find one of our favorite gift shops: Luna Home and Gifts — a small business that offers a unique inventory of gift items. NEST candles, hand-embroidered dresses, and bird-themed home decor are just a taste of the variety at this local shop.
