APRIL RESERVATIONS

Out of an abundance of caution for our staff and our guests, Sand `N Sea will not be accepting any reservations for April arrivals.

If you have an April reservation with us, it will be canceled, and your money will be fully refunded, or your reservation will be moved to a later date.  (Your choice.)

Starting today, we will be calling all our April guests.  Please be patient with us; our staff is limited, and we are all working remotely.  Rest assured that we will take care of each and every one of our guests.  If you need to reach us, email info@sandnsea.com.

We know that many of you were looking forward to a respite at the beach, and we know that many of you will be disappointed.  Know that we look forward to welcoming you to the beach in the future!

City of Galveston Press Release:

Galveston public beaches are closed in response to COVID-19

Galveston, TX – March 28, 2020 – Two orders are in effect as of Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2020 at 2:45 p.m. closing all public beaches in Galveston and restricting vehicle traffic on the beach west of the end of the Seawall. By state law, this order is in effect for seven days until Sunday, April 5, 2020.

The orders are part of the City of Galveston’s response to the COVID-19 public health crisis. As of Saturday afternoon, the most recent reporting, the Galveston County Health District had confirmed 60 cases of COVID-19 within the county. The City of Galveston’s top priority is the health and safety of its residents and it is in guidance from federal and local health authorities that these actions are being taken.

The City of Galveston has implemented a series of orders under a March 16, 2020 emergency declaration signed by Mayor Jim Yarbrough to prevent the community spread of COVID-19.

The City of Galveston had attempted to avoid closing public beaches because it is our desire that residents have an area to exercise and get fresh air while maintaining safe social distancing. However, it is clear that there are many people visiting from other areas in defiance of local, state and national travel recommendations and/or restrictions. As a result, the City of Galveston must restrict access to the public beach. The Texas General Land Office will not allow the beach to remain open to residents only. As a public beach, it must be closed to all.

We look forward to welcoming visitors back to Galveston as soon as these orders have been lifted.

Under these two orders, which are attached, it shall be a Class C misdemeanor if a person is found in violation of the order related to the closure of Galveston public beaches. These orders are enforced by the Galveston Police Department, the City Marshal’s Office and the Galveston Beach Patrol.

This City order is in response to the COVID-19 health emergency.  All Short-Term rental guests, guests at RV Parks, and all hotel guests must also leave by tomorrow morning.

A few notes:

  • Please follow the check-out procedures found on the back of your check-in packet.

How to Make Your Beach Trip Easier

March 19, 2020

A few things to note that will make your trip even easier:

  • We recommend bringing hand sanitizer and other home supplies like toilet paper with you. These items are only be available in limited quantities at local stores.

  • The majority of our homes offer free WiFi for guest use. If you have questions about your home’s amenities check the "Amenities" tab on your home's webpage. Telecommute with confidence, but be aware that speeds can be slow here on the more rural side of Galveston. With the increased load on the internet infrastructure it's realistic to expect intermittent issues.

  • If you aren’t feeling well, we encourage you to stay home. Even in the best of times, vacationing while sick is no fun. If you or your guests are ill and you elected to purchase travel insurance coverage please contact RedSky Travel Insurance (866.889.7409 or redsky@archinsurance.com).

We want you to be confident in your choice to vacation in Sand `N Sea beach houses. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 409.797.5500 with any questions.

March 13, 2020

We know that you may have questions about your upcoming Galveston vacation, and we feel it’s important to be transparent with our policies. Here are a few of the things that we are doing to mitigate the risk for our guests and staff members:

In our office:

  • Our entire office is disinfected daily, and check-in counters are cleaned frequently throughout the day.

  • Check-in counters also have hand sanitizers for guest and staff use, and there are disinfectants for staff to use between guests.

  • Hand sanitizers and disinfectant sprays are positioned throughout the office, in restrooms and in all areas which staff & guests use frequently.

  • Property services requires all staff and maintenance vendors entering and departing to use the sanitizing stations located in their department.

  • Vacation Rentals team members and Realtors are required to stay home if sick.

  • Any staff members or Realtors traveling internationally or on cruises are required to self-quarantine at home for 14 days after arrival back in the US.

At your beach house:

  • Our professionally trained housekeeping teams continue to use professional level disinfectants and cleaning supplies.

  • Housekeeping teams are using gloves, and paying special attention to high-touch areas like doorknobs, light switches, cabinet handles, etc.

  • Our commercial laundry washes towels and sheets professionally – at 160 degrees (your home washer typically reaches 100 degrees).

  • Inspecting & Property Services staff that are entering houses have been extensively trained and are being super vigilant about disinfectants and cleanliness standards.

Your private vacation home is the perfect escape during this stressful time. Spacious living areas, private decks, and miles of beaches make it easy to avoid contact with other travelers. Many local restaurants offer delicious takeout options, and all are taking precautions above & beyond normal food safety practices.
